#TuesdaysWithLarry: Horrors From The Beauty Retail Floor

(Photo from January 2013)

That's Larry beside me. (pardon the one behind me. Hehehe) Thought it'll be nice to feature someone I know who's a professional & infamous MUA here in Singapore.

Larry was my first few seniors that I get to work with during my first few years. One fact that I can never forget about him was, he used to talk like a bullet train. I hardly managed to learn something from him, without asking him to repeat what he said. Hahaha... Funny. And yes, he is an amazing artist & yes I agree with his (often brutal) honesty.

"Which colour suits me?"

".....is this one natural? (points to blue eyeshadow)"

"Your lipstick quite expensive, hor? (while carrying a super expensive leather bag)"

"I have sensitive skin..."

"...but I also want the makeup to be natural and not too thick."

Well, pretty common & true. Plus if 80% of your customers for that day came with these questions, for sure you'll want to end your day at work faster than ever.

I know we as MUA are there to educate these kind of people. But.....if a pink color lipstick like the Bandung drink is what they call NUDE, then I surrender. I'll just be staring at them with a smile & nod. Just so if that makes them happy. (After which, I'll be slapping my forehead in disbelief.)

It's a good read & I'm looking forward to many more of the #TuesdayWithLarry. For sure I don't have to ask him to repeat what he said this time. :)

(Photo from February 2014, Yes I am that short or either he is that tall.)

Bye Bye 'Tired Eyes'

Cucumber Moisturizing Eye Mask
By Guardian

At this late hour, 2am, one of those moment when I can have my me-time as the babyboy soundly asleep. This moment is perfect for an eye mask while I watch Grimm. (Yes, 2am everyone asleep except me. Widely awake.)

I've recently started to be less lazy on doing a weekly mask routine. Decided to purchase this eye mask because it (looks pretty cute &) affordable. SGD9.90 per box of 10 pairs. I would say a good one to start off the new habit.

There's 3 different types of eye mask by Guardian & I've chosen the ones that hydrates & freshen the under eyes as mine's totally dry with fine lines & wrinkles. Especially as I'm breastfeeding the babyboy, I definitely need the hydration.

It's made with ultra thin mask sheet that fits perfectly on Asian's eye contour. It's stated that it can even be use right before your party or work.

Instructions stated to have the eye mask on for 10-15 minutes. But I usually will have it up to 30-45 minutes until it felt 'almost drying'... almost but not dried yet. (Of cause it's not good to leave a mask dried up on our skin. No no~) Whereby 1 drama series is a perfect timer, like now - Grimm (watch online without all those commercial breaks that is).

Besides this weekly eye mask routine, on a daily basis I'll also be using serum & skincares to supply me the moisture on the skin. (That I'll blog another time.)

Oooh now I feel slightly sleepy with a moisturized eyes. I better get a nap before the babyboy have his next cry. Good night, all~

Coach Spring Summer 1941 Collection

It's quite a trend now for this muted grey brown lip color. And so I decided to wear it on for this event though it's Spring Summer but I didn't want to be too bright on the lips for the short event.

When wearing too much of an auburn warm tones, it's great to pair it up with grey contact lens, to avoid looking too warm...

So here's sharing with you my current favourite grey contact lens are Freshlook Colorblend in Sterling Gray.

Want to know where I usually get this contact lens at the most cheapest price in town? Let's say SGD18 for this. Cheapest? Hehe...

Thank you Coach Singapore for the invite. Yes, me & my girlfriend ShiQin enjoyed it. Even though we've seen photos of the Coach Spring Summer events in other countries such as Malaysia & Dubai. Looked more happening but it's alright~

Checkout some beautiful shots for #CoachSingapore .

Besides the contact lens, this dessert place is a must try! (Sunday Folks) Hehehe... Well, good night all. Thank you for a nice night out.
